Plane makes emergency landing on Interstate 75 after engine fails

<p>A small airplane headed for Lawrenceville, Ga., made an emergency landing on the median of Interstate 75 in north Macon on Friday afternoon.</p><p>The engine of the Beachcraft Bonanza AA-36 failed and the pilot, William Stevens, of Brooksville, Fla., said he was trying to make it to the Macon Downtown Airport when he realized he would have to land on the interstate. He said he was flying to Lawrenceville, which is about 100 miles north of Macon in metro Atlanta, for his grandson's 8th birthday.</p><p>The plane struck no vehicles and neither Stevens nor the plane's other passenger, who was not identified, were injured seriously, officials said.</p><p>The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident.</p><p>___</p><p>HASH(0x1cd9e5c)</p>
