Carrollton man dies in Macon accident

<p>A Carrollton man trying to fix his van on Interstate 75 was killed early Thursday when his vehicle was struck by a tractor trailer.</p><p>When his van broke down around 2 a.m., Bernard Beacham, 34, pulled over near the Hartley Bridge Road exit, Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said. Beacham was outside the van trying to fix it when it was hit by an 18-wheeler and Beacham was killed instantly, Jones said.</p><p>Beacham's two children, Sidney, 2, and Brittany, 9, and his girlfriend, Ashley Rodney, 34, were inside the van when it was struck. All three were injured and were brought to the Medical Center of Central Georgia, where they were in stable condition, according to a hospital spokeswoman.</p><p>The tractor-trailer driver, Tommy Lee West, 46, was injured and was also listed in stable condition at the medical center.</p><p>___</p><p>HASH(0x1cd9cdc)</p>
