Barrow County residents may face tax increase

WINDER - Like their counterparts here in Hall County, Barrow County school officials are struggling with the possibility of increasing taxes this year.

Hall and Barrow are two of several places in northeast Georgia where school tax increases are under consideration.

The increase in Barrow would amount to one mill - and generate about one-point-four million dollars. The new money would help fund a budget that is almost seven-and-a-half million more than the old one.
