Housing permits up in Hall County

GAINESVILLE - Up one month, down the next, and up again - this year's trend in new housing starts in Hall County continued last month.

There were 115 permits issued in May for new, single-family homes in unincorproated parts of the county, compared to 99 in April and 122 in March.

In the City of Gainesville, four were issued in last month, five in April, and 24 in March.

Overall construction activity in the county also received a $21 million shot in the arm from a single commercial/industrial permit.
