Move to name street for Henry Ward

GAINESVILLE - Gainesville planners next month will consider naming a street for Henry Ward, the only person to ever serve as both Hall County Commission Chairman and Gainesville Mayor.<br> <br> The city is being asked to name a 315-foot section of Green Street Henry O. Ward Way. <br> <br> It&#39;s located between Broad Street and Jewell Parkway in the midst of the downtown government complex.<br> <br> In addition to serving as mayor and county commission chairman, Ward, who died several years ago, also served as Hall County Coroner for more than 25 years.<br> <br> Among other items on the July 11 agenda is a request from Moore & Allen Medical Properties, LLC, to rezone 1.29 acres on Park Hill Drive near South Enota Drive from Residential-1 (R-1) to Office and Institutional (O-I). The applicant wants to put a medical office building on the site.
