ATLANTA - The Atlanta Braves activated relief pitcher Lance Cormier from the 15-day disabled list Thursday and optioned right-hander Anthony Lerew back to AAA Richmond.
Cormier was 2-1 with a 3.00 ERA when he went on the DL with a strained left oblique muscle on May 3rd. He pitched one scoreless inning for Class A Rome yesterday, showing he was healthy enough to return to the Braves bullpen.
Lerew spent only one day with the Braves. He was called up from Richmond to give the team an extra arm in the bullpen but wasn't used during Wednesday's 11-inning game.
