FLOWERY BRANCH - Emergency personnel had to cut two men from their wrecked car near Flowery Branch early Thursday morning - and they were later jailed.

According to Sheriff's Lt. Ken Nix, a 2006 Eclipse, driven by 25-year-old Michael Shane Coker, crashed on Spouts Springs Road at approximately 12:45. The car, which Nix says was travelling at a high rate of speed, went out of control, and slammed into several trees. Coker and his passenger, 47-year-old William David Booker, were trapped in the wreckage for about 25 minutes.

After being treated at Northeast Georgia Medical Center and released, Coker was charged with several offenses, including DUI, while Booker has been arrested on outstanding warrants from Lawrenceville for DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.
