OXFORD, Miss. - Mississippi men's basketball coach Andy Kennedy has announced the hiring of Colorado State assistant Owen Miller.
Miller, 35, interviewed with Kennedy at the Final Four this past week and said he accepted the job on Wednesday. He spent the past two seasons on Colorado State's staff and was the recruiting coordinator last season.
``I think Ole Miss has worlds of potential,'' Miller said. ``They've won there before, and it hasn't been too long ago. There's going to be a lot of work, but there's no magic formula. You've got to be productive every day and work at recruiting every day.''
Miller's coaching career began at Mississippi State in 1994-95 and he was part of former coach Richard Williams' staff for three seasons. He also spent seven seasons at Texas-San Antonio and was the associate head coach his final two seasons.
Kennedy, who retained Michael White from former coach Rod Barnes' staff, must find one more assistant to round out his staff. Another Barnes assistant, Tracy Dildy, resigned Wednesday.
