Humane Society offers drop off site for low income clinic

By by Lindsay Helton
GAINESVILLE - The Humane Society of Hall County is offering a special service for people interested in taking their pets to the low income spay-neuter clinic.

For six weeks during April and May the clinic will offer satellite drop off sites at no additional charge.

Rick Aiken, Executive Director for the Humane Society says, "It's just a service we're trying to provide for those working folks that can't get out here."

Pet owners would need to call the Humane Society to make an appointment for the drop off. The animal would be ready for pick up that evening.

Anyone on any governmental assistance program is eligible.

Aiken reminds owners that they do not have to wait until the pet is six months old, "If the animal is six weeks old and weighs two pounds we can spay or neuter it."

The cost is $50 for dogs or female cats and $40 for male cats.

The satellite drop off sites are:

*The old Free Chapel Worship Center, 1290 McEver Road, April 11 and May 2

*Circle M Mart, 4504 Ga. 365 in Lula, April 18 and May 9

*Memorial Park Funeral Home South, 4059 Falcon Parkway near Flowery Branch, April 25 and May 16
