Wreck closes part of Thompson Bridge Rd.

GAINESVILLE - A head-on crash closed part of Thompson Bridge Road in Gainesville Friday afternoon for over an hour.

It happened shortly before 2:00 and both northbound lanes were closed at Virginia Avenue after a mini van and a small pick-up truck collided at the intersection.

Lt. Chad White of the Gainesville Police Department said the lanes were reopened shortly after 3:00.

White said six people were injured,one critically.
