LeTrell Simpson, 2006 Woman of Distinction

GAINESVILLE - The Girl Scouts of Northeast Georgia pinned their 8th Woman of Distinction Tuesday during a banquet in her honor at First United Methodist Church.
LeTrell Simpson is the 2006 Gainesville Woman of Distinction.

Gainesville Mayor Mark Musselwhite presented a joint proclamation from the city and Hall County designating Tuesday, March 14th, 2006 as LeTrell E. Simpson Day as the Northeast Georgia Girl Scouts pinned the Northeast Georgia Hospital executive as their 2006 Woman of Distinction.

She said Gainesville/Hall County over 40 years became the "blended fabric of her life" during her career and her volunteer service that led her from a newspaper reporter's job to a public relations position with Hall County Hospital in 1970.
Hall County Hospital became Northeast Georgia Health System and Simpson became its Vice President of Corporate Development.

"It is because of you and others like you that I have been able to create the fabric of my life here in Gainesville and Hall County," Simpson said.

Simpson was the Gainesville Rotary Club's Woman of the year in 1994 and its first woman president in 2004.

Her list of civic leadership also includes Chairman of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce and membership on the Economic Development Council, the Arts Council, the Quinlan Visual Arts Center, the North Georgia Community Foundation Board and President of the Junior Service League
She quoted Gandhi's Prayer of Peace.

"Let us work together for unity and love."
