Eight straight days of below-normal temps

By by Ken Stanford
GAINESVILLE - Sunday was the eighth straight day of below-average temperatures in Gainesville - but we should be returning to more normal readings this week.

You have to go back to March 18 to find a day when temperatures around here were at or above normal for this time of year.

Since that time, highs have run as high as 17 degrees below normal.

Again Monday morning, for the second day in row, temperatures dipped to the freezing mark and there was scattered frost in the Gainesville area. However, a warming trend is expected all week, with daytime highs expected to reach the 70s by week's end.
