GAINESVILLE - A group of Hall County high school students will represent Georgia at an international student marketing conference in Dallas, Texas, this spring.
They are members of the Chestatee High School DECA Chapter - an association of marketing students.
Thirty students competed March 2-4 against students from all over the state at the annual Career Development Conference in Atlanta. "We were very successful," said Anita Deraney, Marketing Teacher and DECA Advisor at the school. "Twenty-four students qualified to represent Chestatee High School and the state of Georgia at the International Conference...April 29th through May 3rd."
The club has launched a fund-raising drive to raise money to finance the trip to Dallas. The estimated cost per student is about $800, according to Deraney.
