Husband of Fort Bragg soldier charged in her murder

<p>The husband of a Fort Bragg soldier has been charged with murder in her strangling death, authorities said.</p><p>Dishony Antonie McFarland, 30, was detained Thursday at Fort Stewart, Ga., where he is stationed. He met his wife, Sgt. Dahlia Newman, 26, while they were deployed in Iraq, said Hoke County Sheriff Hubert Peterkin. The couple married Jan. 9, Peterkin said.</p><p>Newman's body was discovered Tuesday after she didn't show up for work or answer the telephone at her home, according to the sheriff's department. Her supervisor and an officer went to her home and found the back door had been forced open before calling 911.</p><p>Investigators said they believe McFarland was in Hoke County last weekend.
