GAINESVILLE - The City of Gainesville will celebrate its
185th birthday Thursday by recognizing 185 outstanding citizens.
The celebration will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the arena of the Georgia Mountains Center. The outstanding citizens will be recognized and will receive a commemorative gift. The special honorees represent local schools, businesses, non-profit agencies, the media, the arts, and the medical community.
The celebration is open to the public.
