BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - LSU quarterback JaMarcus Russell and Florida free safety Reggie Nelson were named Southeastern Conference offensive and defensive players of the week on Monday.<br>

The league awarded special teams honors to Tennessee placekicker James Wilhoit.<br>

Russell threw for a career-best 330 yards and tied a career-high with three touchdown passes in LSUs 48-17 win over Mississippi State.<br>
<br>
He connected on 18-of-20 passes to tie a school record for completion percentage, completing an LSU record 14 consecutive passes at one point.<br>
<br>
Nelson returned an interception 70 yards for a touchdown to seal Floridas 28-13 win over Alabama.<br>
<br>
Wilhoit hit two field goals and five extra points in a 41-7 win at Memphis.<br>
<br>
The offensive lineman of the week was Auburn guard Tim Duckworth, while Georgia end Charles Johnson received defensive line honors.<br>

The freshman of the week was Tennessee tailback LaMarcus Coker.
