Three teenage boys died Thursday afternoon when the car they were in collided with a landscaping truck fully loaded with logs.

The car tried to make a left turn at an intersection off Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road and collided with the truck that was coming straight from the opposite direction, said Gwinnett County Police Cpl. Darren Moloney.

The boys were pronounced dead at the scene, while the logging truck driver was not hurt, Moloney said. Two of the boys were students at North Gwinnett High School.

According to witnesses, the light for both vehicles had turned from green to yellow. The Mitsubishi is listed at fault for failure to yield while turning left.
