DOT: Expect traffic delays in Oakwood next week

OAKWOOD - The DOT is warning people to be prepared for traffic delays on Mundy Mill Road in Oakwook this coming week.

Spokeswoman Teri Pope said beginning Monday and running through Thursday, traffic will drop to one lane on each side at the 985 interchange.

"Avoid the area if you can," Pope said. "Think ahead before you get stuck in the traffic."

She adds traffic will be effected only at night from 8:00p.m. to 6:00a.m.

Traffic is being hampered so that crews can install bridge beams.

"They are about 80ft long each," Pope said. "And, weigh about 50-thousand pounds each."
