TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama quarterback John Parker Wilson said his injured left ankle recovered faster than he expected and didn't limit him in practice on Tuesday.
Coach Mike Shula said he also expects receiver Keith Brown to return Saturday against Mississippi State after missing the past two games with a left knee injury.
Wilson said he went through a normal practice and his mobility wasn't affected.
``I did a bunch of sprintouts and rollouts, and I felt really good,'' he said. ``I didn't expect it to feel this good.
``Come Saturday, it'll be fine,'' Wilson said.
Wilson aggravated an earlier injury on the final drive of the first half of a 38-3 victory over Florida International when he was hit while making a short pass. He returned in the second half, but only played two series with Alabama building a big lead.
``We wouldn't have let him back in if we felt like he was in a position where it would really hurt him,'' Shula said. ``Right now I feel real good about him playing. I think he feels real good about it. I think he's probably about where he was this time last week, and no worse.''
Brown was not made available for interviews following Tuesday's practice.
``It looks like he's running pretty good,'' Wilson said. ``He looks pretty healthy. That's encouraging to see.''
