Vick enters mediation in allegation of transmitting STD

<p>Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick has entered into court-ordered mediation hearings with the woman who claimed she contracted a sexually transmitted disease from him.</p><p>In March 2005, Sonya Elliott, who said she is Vick's former girlfriend, filed a lawsuit against Vick saying that he infected with her genital herpes.</p><p>Vick has agreed to submit a blood test, provide his medical history and hand over his records, according to recent additions to the lawsuit filed in Gwinnett County State Court. But all records will be sealed until March 17.</p><p>Vick and Elliott, a 26-year-old geriatric nurse, couldn't come to an agreement in a mediation hearing on December sixth, according to court documents. If they cannot reach an agreement in the current mediation, a public trial will be held.</p><p>Whether or not Vick has genital herpes, an issue on which he hasn't commented publicly, will prove a crucial point in the negotiations, an attorney for Elliott said.</p><p>In the lawsuit, Elliott alleges Vick used the alias Ron Mexico when seeing a doctor about the disease. Elliott alleges Vick acknowledged he had the disease, which can be treated but not cured.</p><p>Elliott claims she met Vick in Virginia Beach, Va., in 2001 _ when both lived in the area _ and had an off-and-on relationship with him before and after she moved to the Atlanta area in 2002.</p><p>Elliott seeks unspecified damages for Vick's alleged negligence, unwanted physical contact and potential future medical complications.</p><p>___</p><p>HASH(0x1cd9dfc)</p>
