<p>High-tech manufacturer Honeywell said Thursday it has agreed to sell its U.S. nylon carpet fibers business to Georgia-based Shaw Industries Group Inc.</p><p>Under terms of the agreement, Morris Township-based Honeywell will sell its nylon fiber manufacturing operations in Anderson, Clemson and Columbia, S.C., to Dalton Ga.-based flooring manufacturer Shaw Industries, which also will acquire the Zeftron nylon and Anso nylon brand names. Shaw will acquire Honeywell's 50 percent stake in Evergreen Nylon Recycling, based in Augusta, Ga.</p><p>The companies also agreed to a long-term agreement under which Honeywell will supply Shaw with two chemicals used in the production of nylon fibers for carpeting and other applications.</p><p>Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to close in late 2005.</p>
