SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) Three of Tremaine Lyle's four pass completions went for touchdowns, including two after a 17-point lead had dwindled to three, to lead Benedict to a 31-14 victory over Savannah State on Saturday night.<br>

After the Tigers (0-1) had cut the lead to 17-14 on Clyde Tullis' 12-yard scoring pass to Khalil Hasan with 4:57 left in the third period, Lyle hit Gerald Robinson on a 37-yard scoring pass and Rashidi Scott on an 11-yarder to end Savannah's hopes of a comeback.<br>

Lyle, who completed 4 of 14 passes for 87 yards, hit Richard Siders on a 20-yard scoring pass in the second quarter. Benedict (1-1) also scored on Jeffery Nobles 1-yard run and Margin Degason's 25-yard field goal.<br>

Savannah's other touchdown came on a 1-yard run by Myshun McAlpine.<br>
