30th edition of Chattahoochee Mountain Fair

CLARKESVILLLE - The 30th edition of the Chattahoochee Mountain Fair in Clarkesville began Friday and will run through next weekend.<br> <br> At a time which most &#34;country fairs&#34; in small towns in Georgia - including the one in Gainesville have disappeared - the Chattahoochee continues to thrive.<br> <br> Entertainment this year will range from country music Star T. Graham Brown, on Friday, September 16, to the Primitive Quartet, a southern gospel group, on Thursday, September 15. <br> <br> The talent show will be back on Monday and a new addition this year will be a special night highlighting Barbershop Quartets on Wednesday. <br> <br> Midway rides and shows are also included. <br> <br> The Hayes Dodge Rodeo will be the highlight of the opening weekend, with events both Friday and Saturday nights. <br> <br> There will be an exhibit featuring live Bengal Tigers. <br> <br> Other attractions include a children's petting zoo, a magic show, puppet shows, an art show, canned goods, a quilter's exhibit and the Marines will have some helicopters on display. <br> <br> Next Saturday, the new Miss Chattahoochee will be crowned. The pageant is a Miss Georgia preliminary. <br> <br> The Soque Saddle Club will hold various horse shows and associated events.
