LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) Cody Hodges threw for 356 yards and four touchdowns in the first half to lead 19th-ranked Texas Tech past Sam Houston State 80-to-21 in the Red Raiders' highest scoring game in 52 years.<br>

The fifth-year senior who led the nation in total offense coming into the game added 80 yards passing. He threw another T-D in the third quarter to put Tech up 56-to-7 before backup quarterback Graham Harrell took over.<br>

Hodges completed 26-of-37 passes for 436 yards.<br>

Tech's point total was the largest since October 1953, when they put up 71 points against New Mexico A-and-M, now New Mexico State.<br>
