GAINESVILLE - The rain that began before daybreak today produced the first measureable rainfall in Gainesville in nearly a month.
The showers had produced .02 of an inch of rain by 7:45 a.m. - the first measurable rainfall since August 29 when the remnants of Hurricane Katrina were passing through our area.
The latest round of showers was associated with what's left of another hurricane - Rita, which moved ashore on the Gulf Coast over the weekend.
