Sewer line work closing Gainesville street

GAINESVILLE - If you typically use Dixie Drive, a busy street that connects Atlanta Highway and Browns Bridge Road on the west side of Gainesville, you'll probably want to make alternate plans most of next week.

Dixie will be closed to through traffic from 8:00 Monday morning until 5:00 Thursday afternoon while sewer lines along Flat Creek are replaced.

Officials with the Gainesville Public Utilities Department say Hilton Drive in that area remains closed, so, the best alternates, will be Memorial Park Drive and Pearl Nix Parkway.
