Alabama football assistants get raises

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) Alabama coach Mike Shula didn&#39;t receive a raise this year, but he got one for his entire 12-member support staff.<br> <br> Crimson Tide defensive coordinator Joe Kines and offensive coordinator Dave Rader also received two-year contracts, which the trustees&#39; compensation committee approved on Tuesday.<br> <br> Kines got the biggest pay hike, with a $28,000 raise boosting his salary to $240,000. Rader got a $5,000 raise to $217,000.<br> <br> The rest of the football staff, including the other seven assistants, received one-year deals through June 30, 2006.<br> <br> Dave Ungerer, who coaches the special teams and tight ends, has the third-highest salary at $174,600 after a $5,000 raise.<br> <br> Shula received a one-year contract extension through Jan. 31, 2010 in June, but his $900,000 salary remained unchanged.<br> <br> Athletic director Mal Moore said Shula didn&#39;t ask for a raise for himself.<br> <br> ``I want to have a great staff around me, No. 1,&#39;&#39; Shula said. ``I&#39;m not worried about a raise or anything like that. I&#39;m worried about winning football games.
