GAINESVILLE - Workers began resurfacing the main north-south artery through Gainesville Sunday night - and by 4:30 Monday morning had worked their way as far north as Jewell Parkway.
Georgia Department of Transportation spokeswoman Teri Pope says the work - on E.E. Butler Parkway and Green Street, from MLK on the south to the civic center on the north - will continue nightly, Sundays through Thursdays.
The resurfacing is expected to be finished in about a month, but the scheduled completion date for the entire project, which also includes traffic signal improvements and upgrades to eleven intersections, is November 30.
