Alabama's Anderson injures knee, expected back for opener

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) Alabama defensive end Mark Anderson had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, but is expected to be ready for the season opener.<br>

Crimson Tide coach Mike Shula said Anderson had surgery to repair a torn lateral meniscus on Thursday, two days after sustaining the injury during an offseason workout.<br>
<br>
Anderson started every game last season and had 41 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and 1.5 quarterback sacks.<br>
<br>
The Tide opens the season Sept. 3 against Middle Tennessee.<br>
