Burress suffers knee injury in Giants' first practice

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) Wide receiver Plaxico Burress was taken off the field during the New York Giants' first practice session this morning with what coach Tom Coughlin described as a hyperextended knee.<br>

Burress was acquired as an unrestricted free agent from Pittsburgh in March. He signed a six-year, 25 (M) million dollar contract that included an eight million dollar signing bonus.<br>
<br>
The sixth-year pro was a first-round draft pick by the Steelers out of Michigan State. He has 262 career receptions for over four-thousand yards and 22 touchdowns.<br>
