MONTREAL (AP) American Aaron Peirsol broke his own world record in the 200-meter backstroke at the World Swimming Championships in Montreal.<br>

Peirsol touched in a time of one minute, 54-point-66 seconds. That eclipses the mark of one-54-74 he set at last year's U.S. Olympic trials.<br>
