LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) Miami's dream of winning this year's NCAA baseball title is gone.
Alex Gordon, Joe Simokaitis and Ryan Bohanan homered and freshman Johnny Dorn pitched 6 1-3 solid innings as Nebraska secured its third College World Series berth in five years with a 6-3 victory over Miami on Saturday.
The Cornhuskers (56-13), who won the best-of-three NCAA Super Regional 2-0, return to the CWS, 50 miles away in Omaha, after making their first two appearances in 2001 and 2002.
Dorn (12-1) allowed five hits before Brian Duensing relieved in the seventh. Brett Jensen worked the last 1 2-3 innings for his 15th save.
The Hurricanes (41-19-1) will miss the CWS for the first time since 2002 and only the fourth time since 1993. Paco Figueroa, Jon Jay and Ryan Braun the No. 5 pick in this year's baseball draft by the Milwaukee Brewers each drove in a run for Miami.
The Huskers jumped on Miami starter Brandon Camardese (6-1) right away. Joe Simokaitis singled with out one in the first before Gordon drove the ball off the light pole beyond the fence in left-center field for his 19th home run of the season.

It was the first homer in seven games for Gordon, the second pick overall by the Kansas City Royals in Tuesday's baseball draft.

Simokaitis hit only his fifth homer in 235 career games leading off the third for a 3-0 lead. The Huskers went up 5-0 after Ryan Bohanan's bases-loaded double.
Miami went scoreless after loading the bases in the seventh against Dorn and Duensing.

After Duensing walked pinch hitter Alex Garabedian, Walter Diaz flew out to right and Andy Gerch threw out Danny Valencia at home to end the inning.

The Huskers added to their lead on freshman Ryan Bohanan's first home run leading off the eighth against reliever Chris Perez.

Miami scored twice off Duensing in the bottom half after Danny Figueroa led off with a walk. Paco Figueroa and Braun followed with back-to-back RBI doubles before Jensen came on and got Valencia to pop out to the catcher and Brendan Katin to fly out to center.
The Huskers will open the CWS on Friday against the winner of the super regional between Cal State-Fullerton and Arizona State.
