MIAMI (AP) Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor is scheduled to go to trial the day after his team opens the N-F-L season. Taylor's charged with with pointing a gun during a dispute about an all-terrain vehicle in Miami, and if convicted he would go to jail for at least three years.<br>

State prosecutors filed formal charges today against the 22-year-old former University of Miami star. The single count is for aggravated assault with a firearm.<br>

Taylor allegedly was among a group of people who got into an armed confrontation earlier this month over a vehicle the player and his associates believed had been stolen.<br>

Taylor, the fifth player picked in the 2004 draft, has pleaded not guilty.<br>
