COLUMBIA, S.C. - Nick Wajda and Case Cassedy each had two RBIs to lift Furman to an 11-5 victory over South Carolina on Wednesday, giving the Paladins their second win over the Gamecocks in a week.<br>

The last time Furman (23-23) beat the Gamecocks (33-17) more than once in a season was 1953 when the Paladins split a four-game series. Furman beat South Carolina 6-2 last week.<br>

The Paladins scored five runs in the second inning and Wajda, Tony Maccani and Sam McClain each had doubles in a four-run fourth inning.<br>

South Carolina out hit the Paladins 14-11, but nine of those came with two outs. The Gamecocks also had three errors.<br>

Cal Hurst (2-1) allowed five hits and one run in 1 1-3 relief innings to get the win.<br>
<br>
Cliff Donald (1-1), the first of seven South Carolina pitchers, allowed four hits in the top of the second before he was pulled.
