LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) Vanderbilt junior Jensen Lewis struck out 13 and gave up two hits, leading the Commodores to an 8-0 win over Kentucky on Friday night in SEC play.<br>

The loss dropped the Wildcats to 26-23 overall, including 6-18 in the Southeastern Conference.<br>
<br>
Vanderbilt improved to 31-17 and 12-13 in the league. The Commodores also improved their standing in the SEC standings as the team battles for one of the final SEC Tournament positions.<br>

The Wildcats did not register a hit until the fifth inning when J.P. Lowen singled to left field off Lewis (8-2). Kentucky did manage to put runners on base via walks and hit batsmen, but stranded all seven men it got on.<br>
<br>
John Shelby had the Wildcats only other hit when he laced a single to center in the seventh.<br>
<br>
Vanderbilt came alive in the third and fourth innings to tag Wildcat starter Kalen Gibson (4-3) for seven runs.<br>

The series resumes on Saturday at 2 p.m. when Kentucky junior left-hander Aaron Tennyson (6-1, 4.02) takes the hill against fellow junior southpaw Ryan Mullins (5-1, 3.49).<br>
