NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Matt LaPorta hit a grand slam to cap a five-run fifth as Florida defeated Vanderbilt 5-4 on Friday night.<br>

The Gators (36-18, 18-10 Southeastern Conference) opened the inning with a home run to right by Brian Leclerc, his 11th this season.<br>

Gavin Dickey singled, Jeff Corsaletti doubled and Adam Davis was intentionally walked to set the stage for LaPorta's 22nd homer this season.<br>

Vanderbilt starter Jensen Lewis (8-3) left the game two batters later, finishing with 5 1-3 innings pitched, giving up seven hits, five earned runs and striking out seven while walking four to take the loss.<br>

Vanderbilt (34-19, 13-15) rallied in the bottom half of the inning off Florida starter Alan Horne (7-2). After three straight singles, Alex Feinberg sacrificed for one run, Aaron Garza scored on an error and Brian Hernandez singled in two runs.<br>

But the Commodores could not tie the game and stranded runners at third in the eighth and ninth, with Connor Falkenbach picking up his seventh save for the Gators.<br>
