Former NFL running back David Lang killed in shooting

ATLANTA (AP) Former NFL running back David Lang, a member of the Dallas Cowboys&#39; Super Bowl XXX championship team, was killed in a shooting near his Stone Mountain home, DeKalb County police confirmed Saturday.<br> <br> Lt. L.J. Florea said Lang, 37, was shot and killed following an apparent argument with an acquaintance Thursday. Mario Holmes, 20, was arrested and charged with murder, according to Sgt. J. Germano of the DeKalb Police Department.<br> <br> Germano said Lang was shot twice.<br> <br> Lang was a 12th round draft pick of the Los Angeles Rams in 1990 and played four years with the Rams before spending the 1995 season with the Cowboys.<br> <br> In 1992, Lang rushed for 203 yards on 33 carries for the Rams. He also caught 18 passes for 283 yards and scored six touchdowns.<br> <br> Lang was the special teams captain for the Cowboys&#39; Super Bowl victory over Pittsburgh following the 1995 season.<br> <br> Lang, born in Loma Linda, Calif., made his home in the Atlanta area during his NFL career, according to the Rev. Reginald Beamon of Holyland Church of God In Christ in San Bernardino, Calif.<br> <br> Beamon said Lang&#39;s funeral in San Bernardino is scheduled for Friday.<br> <br> Lang was drafted by the Rams from Northern Arizona University.<br> <br> (Copyright 2005 by The Associated Press.
