Child care public hearing in Gainesville

By by Ken Stanford
ATLANTA - The first of eight public hearings around the state on Georgia's Child Care and Development Fund State Plan will be held in Oakwood later this month.

The CCDF as it is called assists low-income families, families
receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, and those
families transitioning from public assistance to work. It helps them obtain child care so they can work or attend training/education.

The Gainesville hearing will be held April 19 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. p.m. at Gainesville College.

Representatives from the Department of Human Resources (DHR) Childcare and Parent Services Section (CAPS) will be available to receive comments from the public at each hearing. In addition, representatives from the County Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS), and Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning have also been invited to hear your comments.
