NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Dropping prices for basketball tickets resulted in more fans for Vanderbilt. Now school officials are hoping for more of the same by cutting the cost of season tickets for football.
School officials announced Tuesday season tickets from $10 for youth and faculty tickets to as much as $34 for the south end zone, hoping to draw more fans for a program that hasn't had a winning season since 1982.
Coach Bobby Johnson, heading into his fourth year with the Commodores, said it was a strong message that the administration is committed to luring fans into the stadium for the team.

``Without question, having larger crowds in our stadium cheering for Vanderbilt will have a positive impact on our team,'' Johnson said.
The Commodores will play six home games this season, with a visit from nearby rival Middle Tennessee on Oct. 1 and Southeastern Conference opponents Arkansas on Sept. 10, LSU on Oct. 8 and Georgia on Oct. 15.
Marketing director Eric Nichols called it the most substantial cut in season ticket prices in years with the price for every category dropping with the new rates.
End zone season tickets will start as low as $65 with sideline seats costing $120, $20 cheaper than last season. School officials will be alerting past season ticket holders of the new prices later this week by mail.
