DAVIDSON, N.C. (AP) Jay Heafner hit a three-run home run in the eighth inning and pitched a scoreless ninth Wednesday to lead Davidson past Wake Forest 11-10.<br>

Heafner finished with four RBIs while Gregory Zage and Rob Wilson each drove in two runs for the Wildcats (13-14), who trailed 10-7 heading into the bottom of the eighth inning.<br>

Ben Ingold drove in five runs and had three hits for the Demon Deacons (14-17).<br>
<br>
Davidson cut the deficit to 10-8 on a double by Ronnie Shore, scoring Michael Muniz. Then, after Andrew Musashe bunted to reach base, Wake Forest coach Rick Rembielak pulled Kip Byrum in favor of closer Kyle Young.<br>

Heafner sent Young's first pitch over the center field fence for the 11-10 lead.<br>
<br>
The third baseman then took the mound and allowed a one-out double to Brendan Enick before forcing the next two batters to pop out to end the game.<br>
<br>
Rob Shenk (1-0) earned the win despite allowing three runs and three hits in the eighth.<br>
<br>
Young (2-1) took the loss.<br>
