LOS ANGELES - An HBO movie that was filmed, in part, in Gainesville will air later this month on the cable network.

"Warm Springs" highlights the life of President Franklin Roosevelt and his battle with polio and the trips he made to Georgia for treatment. Roosevelt traveled by train between Washington and Warm Springs and the trips carried him through Gainesville. After he died at Warm Springs, his body was carried back to Washington by train and people all along the route, including Gainesville, lined the tracks to pay their respects as the train passed.

The film stars Kenneth Branagh and Cynthia Nixon.

HBO publicist Ann Reiley said the film will have a premiere in Atlanta on the April 18 and will hit the network on April 30.

Other Georgia locations were also used in filming, including Madison, Warm Springs and Atlanta.

The cast also features Jane Alexander, Kathy Bates, Tim Blake Nelson and David Paymer.
