TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) Junior right-hander T.J. Large allowed three hits over eight innings and Gabe Scott and Evan Bush each homered to lead Alabama to a 6-4 victory over South Carolina Friday night.<br>

Despite struggling in the first inning, walking the first two Gamecock batters and giving up a two-run double to Jon Willard, Large was solid in his next seven innings, not giving up a run until Gamecock first baseman Steve Pearce hit a two-run homer in the top of the ninth.<br>

Large (6-3) went eight innings, giving up three hits and four runs. He struck out two and walked four.<br>

The Gamecocks (29-10, 9-7 SEC) were first to score when Willard drove in shortstop Steven Tolleson and left fielder Michael Campbell, runners who were both walked, with a two run double to right center.<br>
<br>
Alabama (28-12, 10-6 SEC) didn't jump on until the bottom of the sixth when Scott doubled to score designated hitter Allen Rice.<br>

The lead was cut to 6-4 in the top of the ninth off of Pearce's two run blast.<br>

The teams continue the three-game series Saturday afternoon.<br>
