Dawson girls win 8-AA title

DAWSONVILLE - The Dawson County girls golf team outdueled Greater Atlanta Christian Thursday to win their first-ever Region 8-AA championship at Gold Creek Golf Course.<br> <br> The Lady Tigers shot a 172 to GAC&#39;s 177 with Dawson&#39;s Courtney Miller shooting a school-record 75 to win the individual title.<br> <br> It was the first-ever individual title in school history as well. Miller won the title by 13 strokes over her nearest competitor.<br> <br> Tara Gilmer turned in a score of 97 for Dawson as the top two scores counted for team competition.<br> <br> The girls will be competing for the state title in Rutledge May 9th.
