ORANGE BEACH, ALABAMA - Rachel Bridges threw a complete game, one-hit shut-out in leading her North Georgia teammates to a 4-0 win over Brescia University in the first round of pool play action at the Gulf Coast Softball Invitational Friday afternoon in Orange Beach, Alabama. <br>

A scoreless game heading into the bottom of the sixth inning, North Georgia erupted for four runs. Brittney Cobb, who had led off the inning with a double, scored the game-winning run on an RBI single by Brittany Barnes in the bottom of the sixth inning. Just two batters later with the bases loaded, Lara Seamon hit a deep, two-RBI sacrifice-fly to center field making the score 3-0 and virtually putting the game away. Cobb, who scored the game-winning run, had two hits in the game including a double and a triple. <br>

Lacey Kitchens took the loss for Brescia University allowing four runs on eight hits in 5 1/3 innings pitched. Brescia now falls to 4-4 on the season and will next play defending national champions and current No. 1-ranked Thomas University today at 5 p.m. <br>

North Georgia improves to 7-3 on the year and takes on Bacone College at 3 p.m. in the team's final game of the day.
