GREEN BAY, Wisc. (AP) The Associated Press has learned that quarterback Brett Favre (farv) is going to play in 2005 for Green Bay. Coach Mike Sherman tells The A-P he had a two-hour conversation with Favre last night, and Favre told him his wife is doing well in her cancer treatment. That opens the way for him to play at least one more N-F-L season.
Sherman says the decision came down to Deanna Favre's health, and she's doing well in her recovery from breast cancer.
The three-time M-V-P had said after the Packers' season ended in the playoffs that he wanted to reflect before committing to playing a 15th N-F-L season.
