We played with an ailing Zach Buckner (flu like symptoms) and our undersized frontcourt against a Senior laden team that would eventually win the National Championship. Sophomore guard Paul Wilkinson led the way for us with 26 in the game Sophomore guard Zach Buckner had 10 and junior F Scott Barron had 9, Junior F Jordan Anderson added 2 and junior F Adam Skelton playing against players easily 6 inches taller than he, added 2. It was an early morning game and we were simply out of synch.
Wabash Valley was overmatched as they were forced to play with younger guys than most of the teams there. This afforded us a lot of playing time for our reserves. Jr. F Tyler Turner led the way with 11, Jr. F Jordan Anderson followed with 9, Jr. F. Scott Barron added 8 in limited playing time, So G Zach Buckner added 8 limited play, Freshman guard Russell Wilkinson added 6, Jr. F Adam Skelton had 4, Sr. G/F Zach Lewis 3 (limited play), Fresh F Ryan Eaton added 3, So. G Paul Wilkinson 2 (limited play), and So. G Andrew Kelley added 1, but had 6 steals.
In a game to try and reach the Consolation bracket finals, White Creek again faced a team with much more size on the interior. Sophomore G Paul Wilkinson led the way with 18 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists while Sr G/F Zach Lewis added 11 points and 13 rebounds. So. G Zach Buckner added 9 points and 5 rebs, while Jr. F Scott Barron added 9 points and 8 rebs. Jr. F Tyler Turner added 2 points and 3 rebs while Jr. F's Jordan ANderson added 3 rebs and Adam Skelton added 5 rebs. Again, we didn't have our best offensive game, Buckner's illness really hurt our offensive potency throughout the tourney. Our game is to stretch the defense out to our guards so that we can open up our undersized interior for easy scores.
