Hall reimbursed $155,000 for search, rescue equipment

GAINESVILLE - The Georgia Office of Homeland Security (OHS) and the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) have reimbursed Hall
County Fire and Emergency Services $155,527.88 for search and rescue
equipment.

The funding is part of a grant totaling $300,000 to enhance the
county's search and rescue capabilities.

"This equipment will not only help build our regional response capacity, it also provides a vital resource Hall County first responders can use for incidents on a day-to-day basis," said OHS and GEMA Director Mike Sherberger.

The primary purpose of the federal homeland security funding is to
strengthen the state's overall capability to respond to acts of terrorism.

The funding, administered by GEMA, is part of U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Office for Domestic Preparedness (ODP) grant program.
