ATLANTA - State DOT officials say contrary to media reports Monday, quoting a DOT board member, a proposal to turn Georgia 316 into a toll road is not dead. And, board member Garland Pinholster has clarified his statements.<br>

Pinholster said that in response to a reporter's question about the deferral of the State Route 316 vote, he replied that it is his opinion that the proposal "as it exists today" - which includes the possibility of a toll road - "will not move forward." <br>

Pinholster said, however, it could be "brought ahead in a different form or in a different proposal." <br>

He added "I have only one vote on the 13-member board, and I did not mean to imply that I was speaking for the whole board."<br>
