A look at Dany Heatley's guilty pleas in crash death of teammate

<p>THE PLEA: Dany Heatley, 24, a star player with the Atlanta Thrashers, pleaded guilty Friday to four misdemeanor charges, including second-degree vehicular homicide, in connection with a Sept. 29, 2003 car crash in Atlanta that killed passenger and teammate Dan Snyder. Charges of first-degree vehicular homicide, a felony, and reckless driving were dropped.</p><p>THE SENTENCE: Heatley was sentenced to three years of probation and ordered to give 50 speeches a year during that period to young people about the dangers of speeding.</p><p>THE VICTIM'S FAMILY: Snyder's father and brother forgave Heatley and asked the judge not to send him to jail. Judge Rowland Barnes honored their wishes, though of their support for Heatley he said, "I don't know that I could do this if I were you."</p>
