January building permits on par with a year ago

GAINESVILLE - The number of new single-family homes okayed for construction in Gainesville and Hall County last month is about the same as it was a year ago.

In January, there were 102 such permits approved by Gainesville/Hall County Building Inspection Services - twelve in the city and 90 in the county.

Last January, the numbers were 41 in the city and 71 in the county.
